Xiaomi QiCycle Mi: Electric Folding Bike From Carbon-Fiber For Only $460!
Even though we are used to reading about new Xiaomi products that do not belong to the general smartphones/tablets/gadgets market, we keep getting surprised every time. The company unveiled a new electric bicycle for China. But what is impressive is the fact that Xiaomi QiCycle Mi can be folded to fit in the car, and costs just 2999 yuan (about $460)!
Its realization was made in collaboration with the Taiwanese company iRiding, and for the time being it will be sold only in China at the above price. The company’s aim is to fight the huge traffic problem in the country, and therefore invests in the rapid development of electric bicycles.
Xiaomi Mi QiCycle Electric Folding Bike is made of carbon fiber and weighs only 14.5kg. It is equipped with an electric motor of 250W/36V, which is powered by 20 Panasonic Li-Ion batteries with a capacity of 2900mAh each, thus offering independence for 45km with a single charge. Additionally, like any other company’s device, the user can connect it to his smartphone, and through a special app he can monitor speed, distance, calories, map etc.
For this price, Xiaomi Mi QiCycle is by far the most interesting electric bicycle that we have seen yet.
