The ongoing battle for smart phone dominance rages on with Samsung taking a pot-shot at Apple's iPhone history of poor battery life.

Their latest advert for the Samsung Galaxy S5 shows supposed Apple users tied to the wall with their iOS device electrical charger to keep their iPhone running.

Waiting At The Airport

Stuck at the airport with too little power, their iPhone 5S is plugged in while they wait for their flight. Even when going to the bathroom, they have to take their charger with them. This is the thinking behind the latest mind-game advertising from Samsung promoting the S5 flagship phone which boasts a 2800 mAh battery.

The latest iPhone 5S only has a 1560 mAh battery. The Samsung S5 also has a removable back, so the battery can be swapped out for another fully charged one which is a trick none of the iPhone devices can do.

Ultra Power Saving Mode

The Ultra Power Saving Mode is an extra feature with the Galaxy S5 which offers minimal feature access in exchange for running for several hours on minimal remaining battery power. This is also something that has been a hit with S5 buyers.

Knocking the iPhone 6 Before It Hits Stores

One of the characters in the advert points out helpfully that there's a new iPhone coming out soon. Another replies back, “ Hope it has a better battery.”

Clearly no love is lost between these two tech titans who continue to battle it out in the smart phone space. Samsung recently announced a 25% drop in profits, so Apple is still winning the corporate earnings game at the present time. Android is gaining market share steadily over the iPhone though as the global smart phone marketplace gets closer to saturation point.
