How to Download and Apply Themes in Google Chrome

There are a ton of themes available for Google Chrome that can give your browser a whole new look and feel. Some of them are official Google themes, and others are user created -- needless to say, there are a plethora of these to choose from. Changing your theme is very easy, and can be done with just a few mouse clicks.

1. Click the small preferences icon (it has three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of your Chrome screen. Select "Settings".

2. A new tab will open, and in the Appearance section, you should see an option for "Get Themes". Click on it.

3. Yet another tab will open up, and this time, it should display a few thumbnails of available themes. If you look at the left-side menu, you'll be able to change between all themes, only google themes, or only artist (third party) themes.

4. Once you've picked out the theme you want to apply, simply hover over that themes thumbnail, and click the "Free" button when it appears. I do not believe there are any paid themes for Chrome, so they should all come up as Free. Chrome will begin checking and verifying the theme, and when finished, it will automatically apply it to your browser with no restart required.

The "New Tab" screen is a great way to see what exactly your theme looks like in a live browser, but you'll notice immediately when it changes.

5. If you want to revert to the default theme, you can easily do so by re-navigating to the Settings tab like we did in Step 1. Instead of clicking on "Get Themes" click on "Reset to default theme" to go back to the original Chrome theme.

Have fun browsing through the themes, and good luck finding one that suits you! Be sure to post any questions below, and why not let us know your favorite Chrome theme to use?
