Wonderball Heroes is a recently featured iOS and Android unique puzzle game that will keep you awake for several nights.

As you can tell from the banner, the game revolves around the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. Throughout the game you'll meet many familiar faces such as the Cheshire cat, and other new characters too, like a bear that sets up explosives, a beaver and a mummy. All of them are there to offer their services to the rabbit (i.e. you) and help you clear the rounds.

The goal of the game is to help the white rabbit get to Wonderland. To achieve that you have to clear levels by aiming and shooting at all the red pegs that appear. In order to do that you have to swipe your finger to aim and tap anywhere to shoot. Aiming and succeeding at hitting is easy at first but gets harder as the game progresses (obviously). Basically it’s just like a game of pinball but with more elements that make it more enjoyable.

The number of balls you are given for shooting is limited but there are various factors that can increase it; for example there is a brown bucket at the bottom of the screen which moves horizontally (left/right) and a lucky shot in the bucket grants you one free ball. While the premise seems easy, most of the time the ball will not land where you want it to as many white pegs stand in the way between you and the red ones.

Apart from red and white pegs there are also blue colored pegs that, depending on the currently assisting character, have various effects such as destroying all of the pegs around it (bear’s ability), increases the size of the bucket making it easier for the ball to fall in (beaver’s ability), or gives two more balls to shoot - making them three at the same time, which increases the chances of clearing the rounds with the less damage (mummy’s ability). Moving to other worlds brings more characters and abilities to use. The worlds are amazing and cleverly done; after level 9 for example, you unlock Egypt! Indeed, the game is quite random, but in a good way.

As you clear rounds new types of pegs appear (such as moving pegs), increasing the difficulty and testing the player’s patience. Also, boosters get unlocked as you progress, like the x-ray cat that makes white pegs disappear.

The graphics certainly add to the enjoyment as they are incredibly detailed and polished. It’s easy to see that the developers paid a lot of attention to that aspect of the game in order to deliver players the best possible result. Wonderball Heroes is a great game to pick up in your free time, while you're traveling (or during class, for some people). It’s challenging, fun, easy to learn and doesn’t get boring. What I found annoying in it is when you’re a shoot away from clearing and you run out of balls, or it ends up hitting the wrong peg. That can be frustrating. There’s nothing negative to add about the game, so by all means give it a try!

The graphics are great, indeed, but in terms of fun, I found King's Bubble Witch Saga 2 more entertaining. This one goes a little bit slow, and the characters are static, but the kids are bound to like it.
