Chrome 36 Comes With New Incognito Version

Google Chrome 36 Stable has been released to users to download and try out. There are a number of new features for the desktop version.

New Features

The new features include an adjusted main icon, simpler notification pop-ups which do their job without being so intrusive, and a cash recovery information bubble which gets your attention following a crash of a crucial part of Chrome or one of its components or installed extensions.

There have also been many improvements to the overall stability and speed of the Chrome browser operations too.

Going Incognito

The anonymous browser feature known as going “incognito” has been improved with a new notification displayed when it is first initiated.

The Chrome app launcher which debuted earlier in the year on both Mac and Windows has now been applied to the Chrome 36 Stable Linux version too.

Security Fixes

In all there were 26 security fixes that came with the latest version of this popular web browser making it worth the upgrade for the reason alone. A more complete list of changes for the desktop version of Chrome is available.

Security researchers can earn money for finding bugs, as one researcher did by pocketing a four-figure sum for finding a medium-risk bug related to spoofing via the location window.

New Android Version

The Google Chrome for Android web browser has also been also updated to version 36.

Changes include an ability to adjust how text appears within the browser on a mobile device to make it more legible on smaller screens, particularly with sites that have not been optimized for mobile users. Mobile users will appreciate these kind of changes.

A number of bug fixes and browser exploits have also been resolved in the Droid version.
