Overview

CleanMyPhone is a software package that can help iOS device owners to better organize and clean their mobile device periodically. iPad, iPhone, and iPod mobile devices are all supported with this software.

There is a Disk Manager feature to show how much space each category on the device (user apps, system apps, books, etc.) is taking up. A category can be examined more closely and selected files removed to make more space.

The App Cleaner feature can expunge old data files from applications that are using up more space than necessary. Apps that are no longer needed can be uninstalled without needing to use the iOS device to do so.

A separate Find Large Files feature which can help track down large movie files and other space hogs that can be safely removed without needing to waste considerable time to do so.

The One-Click-Copy feature is the most useful for advanced users. Backup the camera roll, music, photo library, contacts, reminders, notes, and other items. Previous backups can be seen by date, selected to access them and restored back to a wiped or new iOS device when needed.

Installation

The software required 110.7 MB of available space to complete the setup package. The installation completed without any difficulties.

There was no adware, toolbars, malware or spyware included with the setup program.

CleanMyPhone requires Windows XP, 2000, Vista, 7 or 8.

Interface

The blue interface of CleanMyPhone is split into a toolbar at the top with large buttons for Device Status, Disk Manager, App Cleaner, Find Large Files, and One-Click-Copy, and the main display area below.

Selection of one of the navigation tabs changes the main display to only include options relating to that feature. For instance, the Disk Manager will bring up a breakdown of the different areas of the device storage which includes Photos, Music, Videos, Books, User Apps, System Apps, and User Data. The total space used by each storage area is shown with the option to explore that section and later remove unnecessary files.

The interface is cleanly designed with good use of color. It will be easy for any type of user to understand without needing to read any instructions.
