Overview

AniReminder is an extremely colorful event planner which includes animated GIF images like cute pets to remind about birthdays, appointments, and other important events.

The software can use animated GIFs, sounds that automatically repeat, standard and animated icons, email messages and even the launch of other programs to alert the user that there is an important dated event that has occurred which they should pay attention to.

Reminders are maintained in a simple list which can be sorted by different criteria like event date, name, etc.

Installation

The installation required 2.2 MB of available space. The installation completed without any issues. The software noted that a restart would be required to access all the features of the AniReminder app.

AniReminder requires Windows 98, ME, NT 3+, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows Server 2003.

Interface

The interface uses shades of green, brown and gray to provide a blended interface. This is a good thing because there are copious buttons to press, windows that pop open and other distractions.

The use of colorful green and red buttons, plus animated GIFs and animated icons provide a sense of activity within the application, but the user has the choice whether to opt for less visually distracting reminders instead.

The interface has a basic menu system with only three top level options for “File,” “View” and “Help.” There is also a navigation toolbar down the left side of the app with graphical buttons for “Reminders,” “Options,” and “Log.”

With the actual reminders section, there are three navigational tabs for “Active,” “Archive,” and “Trash.” The Active tab shows all the current reminders entered into the application, the Archived ones displays the reminders that are no longer important, and the Trash tab maintains the deleted reminders.
