1 medium Microsoft Promotion Giving Away 100GB of OneDrive Cloud Storage Free for Two Years Join Bing Rewards to Get itLast week Microsoft started running an interesting promotion, offering 100 GB of OneDrive cloud storage free for two years when you sign up for the new Bing Rewards program.

While free cloud storage offers are usually a hassle to redeem, this offer from Microsoft is surprisingly straightforward and easy to take advantage of, which is why we're sharing it with you. If you already have an account with Bing Rewards you're still able to take advantage of the offer, even if you're not a new signup.

If you're not yet familiar with it, the Bing Rewards program is a way to motivate web searchers into using Microsoft's search engines. In short, you earn credits every time you search the web using Bing or MSN. Amassed credits can then be used to enter into sweepstakes, acquire gift cards, or they can even be exchanged for donations to charities if your prefer to go the philanthropic route.

If all of this sounds like more hassle than it's with, and you'd rather just stick to using Google to search the web, don't worry - you don't actually have to use the Bing Rewards program or their search engines to take advantage of the generous 100 GB of free cloud storage; you're entitled to the offer upon signing up, no additional actions required. Other than the process of signing up, you'll only have to deal with occasional emails from Bing Rewards, but with a bit of folder organization you can easily keep those from cluttering up your inbox.

For those of you who already have an account with Google Drive and would prefer to use that service instead, it is worth noting that last week on Safer Internet Day, Google also launched a free cloud storage offer, albeit a bit less generous. They're offering a permanent 2 GB boost in your existing Google Drive plan, and all you have to do is perform a quick and easy account security checkup, which sends you through a series of prompts to ensure that your account's credentials are accurate and secure.

Of course, if you don't mind using an off-brand competitor that you probably have never heard of, we recently compiled a list of the top 10 free cloud storage services, which typically offer 2 GB or 5 GB of free storage (still a good amount of space for your modest photo or music collection). Some of those services also have referral programs that allow you to earn up to 100 GB of free storage by referring your friends. However, many people would probably prefer 100 GB of free storage for two years with a more reputable service like OneDrive, rather than entrusting their backup data to a less-known website that stands a higher chance of going offline than a Microsoft service.
