Here’s how WOL works:

  • The initial setup is very straightforward and doesn’t require your intervention
  • You can add your computers, one by one (the software will ask you for IP address, MAC, port number, broadcast address)
  • You can even import (or export) the computers in bulk, using a CSV file
  • If you have the IP address or hostname, you can retrieve the MAC address remotely (this data will be tough to find otherwise and it’s needed when you set up the app for the first time)
  • Turn any computer in your network on and off remotely
