Overview

Logic Data Recovery is a data recovery tool that is sophisticated enough that it can help personal users and also corporations who have files that they wish to recover. Data can be lost due to a hacker or a disk drive that has started to malfunction. This software package is designed to help recover files from a hard drive, USB drive, USB flash drive, or SD card. Different types of file systems are supported including FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS and NTFS5.

Recovering files following a partition being removed is one of the specialities of this software. Even with a hard drive crash it can often be possible for software to piece together the missing bytes and help recover most, if not all, of the file data that was previously thought completely irretrievable.

Installation

After signing off on the licensing agreement, the package confirms that 21.2 MB of available space will be needed to complete the install. A suggested installation folder is indicated but the user has the option to browse their file system to find another more suitable location for the LogicSight Data Recovery file.

There is then a notice to advise the user not to install the software on the same hard drive that has lost or damaged files. This is because it is possible that some data to be recovered later will be overwritten by the installation. For this reason, if possible, it is best to install to a different physical disk, or at least, to a different partition on the same disk if that's the only option available to the user.

A shortcut desktop icon can then be created. Once the setup is completed, the package will offer to launch the application for the first time.

Interface

The main interface is simplicity itself. Two large graphics with text labels below them representing Deleted File Recovery and Lost Partition Recovery. Hovering over the graphical icon will reveal more information about each choice. There are also four icons near the top right of the interface which refer to the LogicSite web site, Help, Paying for the purchase, and Setting up the license.

The graphical images cannot actually be clicked on, only the text label button below it.

Each type of recovery uses attractive icons representing storage media, clear information about media so that the user is clear which drive, USB flash drive or other media they are working with, and what to do next.
