Overview

What’s the best way to secure your passwords you say? Well this question doesn’t have an absolute answer, however there are some unique ways of keeping your passwords safe that are worth trying out. One of them is by using ImagiPass, which is not a common software that simply stores your passwords; instead of submitting your passwords in it, you use combinations of images that generate passwords. Isn’t that interesting?

Installation

The whole installation procedure will take less than 10 seconds to complete, really. Launch the installer, click Next 4 times and the main installation process will finish in a blink of an eye. Don’t worry about viruses or this type of stuff, because nothing else other than the main application will be installed, including additional 3^rd party software.

You can use ImagiPass as a portable program by copying the contents of the ImagiPass folder in the directory you installed it and pasting them in a folder named ImagiPass in your USB flash disk. You can then run the executable form there normally.

Supported operating systems are all versions of Windows.

Interface

Firstly, to open the program (assuming its running in the background) you have to use the hotkey combination you assigned for it (default is CTRL+ALT+P). After opening it you can see the main screen, which has brief instructions on how to use the program. On the left side a sidebar with 8 categories containing different pictures: Animals, Calendar, Cars, Characters, Countries, Food, Names and Sports. Clicking on one will change the contents of the main area with countless pictures relative to that category. You can see your password generated at the bottom of the window as you click on the pictures, and copy it using the “Copy” button next to it.

Pros

This program was built to generate powerful passwords without requiring you to remember them, at least not directly, that is. It works by giving you many images and asking you to create a series of a few (they have to be at least 4). Each combination of pictures creates a strong and unique password which you do not have to remember, but can copy it and use it anywhere you want. Every time you want that particular password, all you have to do is select that set of images you used when creating it.

The passwords do not have a set length, but there are 4 sets of length domains: 8-10, 11-20, 21-32 and 33-64. That means that apart from the images you chose when creating the password, you must also pick the correct length in order to create a previously generated password.

Cons

There are no cons here, since the program is stable and works as it should.

Alternatives

This program is too unique to have alternatives, but if you want a few password-protection software then take a look at 1Password (paid), LastPass (paid), KeePass (free) and Sticky Password (paid).
