HostsXpert 4.4

HostsXpert is a Hosts file manager. The Hosts file works with your web browser by creating a list of domain names for sites (www.thissite.com) and then the corresponding IP address. This helps the web browser by saving time looking up a web site on one of several databases around the world. Whilst we all type in web address, the internet actually works with IP address (e.g. 152.52.4.79), which get translated in order to navigate the web more easily. This application is a Hosts file editor to make edits, replace it, merge with a more detailed hosts file, back it up and restore it again. This can be useful because some viruses meddle with the real hosts file by changing the IP address stored for frequently used sites to redirect to malware infected look-a-likes.
