Overview

EaseUS MobiSaver is a Windows software package to connect to an iOS device like an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad tablet device to provide backup services. The software can deliver peace of mind by copying across existing records on a device over to a second storage medium for safe keeping. This can then be restored at a later time should the device be lost, stolen or corrupted during an iOS operating system update gone wrong.

The package can save reminders, calendar entries, messages, call history, bookmarks, timelines, photos and videos to the Windows hard drive for security.

Installation

The package takes up 78.1 MB during installation. Desktop icon and Start menu icon can be added. Then the package will go ahead and install. The software does offer the option to “participate in the Customer Experience Improvement Program” which is defaulted to being selected, but that can be deselected without difficulty. An unprompted new web browser page is opened to the developer site without warning following installation. There are no unwanted extras added to the software installation and it is extremely simple to complete.

Interface

The interface is well designed with the left side used to group different types of content together. Photos / Videos, Contacts / SMS, and Reminders / Notes are the main three areas. With Contacts, the categories break down as contacts, messages, WhatsApp (a nice addition there), call history and timelines are included. With Reminders / Notes, the categories break down as reminders, notes, bookmarks and calendars are grouped here. Each category type has some numbers associated with how many records there are which helps keep track of the amount of data stored on an iOS device.

When selecting an individual category type, the main display alters. So if viewing photos and videos then the display becomes a grid-like view to show picture and video previews. These can then be selected using checkboxes to confirm which items should be recovered. The same is true for other sections where they are appropriately laid out for the user to see what is being stored and determine what to backup or restore. It is a clean layout.
