Overview

JetDrive is a disk defragmentation software package which can help to improve the functioning of the Windows system while reducing the wear on the existing hard drives in the process.

Defragmentation happens when files become scattered all over the hard drive saved in tiny fragments. These fragments all have to be accessed in order to load the complete file which can slow down the load times. When this involves system files or software applications, then the whole Windows system can feel the extent of the reduction in operational efficiency.

Defragmentation tasks can be scheduled and automated in order to avoid the hard drive being overly tasked during productive hours of the day. There is a fast mode which is said to achieve 90 percent of the benefits in just a few minutes.

The Windows registry can also become slow to access for the Windows OS. This can also be defragmented to help speed up the registry access in the future. Other important Windows files that are needed for the core process of keeping the Windows OS running will also be defragmented safely to ensure the current running of Windows is not interrupted, but the user will eventually benefit from the improvement.

Installation

The installation process proceeds normally. It does take a little while to complete. No additional software was added during the setup process like malware or spyware.

The software does require a first and last name, plus an email address. The package will then email authorization to use the software on a 30 day trial period. Anyone who is installing while not being connected to the internet is advised to contact the developer by email (which is tough to do when not connected!) So a less than ideal situation there.

JetDrive requires Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8. The software also requires .NET Framework 2.0 or later.

Interface

The main interface has slim tabbed menu items for StartCenter, Options and Appearance, and Help and Update.

Depending on which menu tab is selected, the window interface will change to reflect the selection.

I did pick up that whilst most of the English language version was indeed in English, there were still some foreign language content present in the StartCenter area.
