Overview

MorphVOX Junior is an enjoyable program to use that lets the user alter the sound of their voice when it is spoken into the microphone. Whether using Skype chats or talking online via game VoIP chat systems like TeamSpeak or Ventrilo, the software can filter the user's voice so that it sounds completely different in real-time as the conversation is progressing.

Use the software to make prank calls to friends or chat anonymously to fellow gamers on a chat system. There are a number of sound effects that can also be deployed on the track at key moments to serve as emphasis or simply as a surprise for the person on the other end of the conversation. The program also includes a number of pre-set voices to choose between rather than creating your own. The software will run on Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8.

Installation

The setup program starts by initializing components. The installation folder is picked out for the users, but they can also tap the Browser button and pick a different folder to install the program. There is also a button below the Browse button for “Disk Cost” which is not explained at all. The installation can be setup to install only for the current user or for all users. When the installation was complete, there was a note near the Close installer button which pointed out to “Please use Windows Update to check for any critical updates in the .NET framework.”

Interface

The interface is a heavily shaped window with LED light indicators for ON/OFF and Listen. The voice names are shown in the main list in a yellow box. This has scroll buttons to move down the list. Above it is a drop down box to select the type of voice that is sought after: Man, Woman, etc. Below the voice names list window is a volume and audio stream indicator which bounces around to confirm audio levels, with a speaker symbol on the right to make audio adjustments.

An alarm clock and other types of sound effects can be pulled from the drop down list. This selection will change the available list of sound effects shown in the yellow window below it. Change the type of sound effect wanted, and the list of available sound effects will alter.

There are also menu links to MorphVOX, Tools, and Help.
