Symbol is a great little app to help access characters and unusual symbols contained within font character sets. With each font, it is possible that the font creator included a bunch of unusual extra characters beyond the usual punctuation marks. In the case of the Wingdings font, it is just about the whole font which has unusual characters. This app will let you switch between different installed fonts, see the characters and symbols contained in the font files, and then individually copy the symbols or characters needed for use. This can be beneficial when you think a font may have just the right symbol that you're looking for, but you're not sure which key on the keyboard will illicit that symbol. This takes the guesswork right out of the process.
