Overview

XL Share Board is a program to enable the sharing of both clipboard information and files across a local area network (LAN).

Textual information and images can be shared using the drag and drop interface that comes as part of the XL Share Board software interface. The clipboard can be shared between users who turns the local Windows clipboard into a LAN-ready sharing tool which is very cool. Any files and folders stored locally can also be shared across a network.

Sometimes we email ourselves photos or files that we wish to gain access to on another device. XL Share Board can provide a way to do this without all the messing around of opening up the web mail, adding the file as an attachment, sending it, then hopping on to the other PC, signing into the email, accessing the new email, and finally opening the attachment. Imagine doing this a few times and you begin to see the benefit of being able to more easily share files across a network whether at home or in an office environment.

There are versions of XL Share Board for both Windows and Mac operating systems which also makes it easier to transfer files between platforms and not only computers on the same platform.

Communication can also be encrypted to ensure that it is not intercept within the network should the network has a silent intruder.

Installation

The installation procedure completed normally. There were no malicious programs offered or installation during the setup process. A web page was opened post-installation with the product offer as it runs initially on a 30 day trial basis with a premium offer after that period.

For the Windows operating system, the XL Share Board requires Windows 2008, 7, Vista, XP or 2000. A Mac computer requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later is required.

Interface

The interface includes menu options for key features. There are also large and colorful toolbar buttons for Monitor, Refresh, Add text, Add file and Add folder.

Clicking the buttons like Add file, Add text or Add folder will bring up the dialog window to navigate on the hard drive to where the files, text or folder are presently located.
