Overview

Vegasaur is a collection of extensions, plugins and scripts for the Sony Vegas Pro package which add automatic and improved productivity for digital editing professionals. A new menu system is added to Sony Vegas Pro which provides access to the many new features which Vegasaur adds to the creative mix.

The pan and crop assistant tool is a nice one that lets the user try a pan and scan approach to photography to create the illusion of movement in the frame. Videos can be created from still photography that use this animation effect on still images. The movement can be sped up or down depending on what result is desired.

Capture images at the paused playback position.

Render assist is a useful extra for long video rendering sessions where the user wants to leave the PC to run until it has completed the video rendering task, then shut down the computer. The system can be set to sleep, hibernate, log off, reboot or power down.

Installation

The software can be installed and it will be instantly added to the Sony Vegas Pro software package. From there, the Vegasaur menu will appear within the existing menus at the top of the application window will fast access to all the new scripts, plugins and extensions that come with the Vegasaur software addition.

There was no adware, toolbars, malware, spyware or other extras added.

The latest version of Sony Vegas Pro requires Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 (64-bit) however earlier versions may not be so strict. Vegasaur requires Vegas Pro 8 or later.

Interface

Vegasaur adds itself as an extensive menu system for users of Sony Vegas Pro to use. Selecting any of the options will usually turn on/off a feature or bring up the appropriate dialog window to configure that feature and activate/employ it on the task being currently worked on.
