"A powerful GUI Windows command interpreter"
Overview
Take Command is a batch file creation environment that can use the GUI and the command line to create effective batch files to run functions in an automated fashion.
The program combines the greater possibilities of an attractive GUI with command line access within the Take Command application. The software adds over 160 new commands to what is included with the standard Windows command line access. Over 620 functions and variables can also be accessed.
The program itself is designed to be a development environment and debugger for users who are serious about creating new batch scripts to help launch setup programs or run their computers more efficiently.
The software includes so many new commands to help speed up the creation of extensive batch scripts that the user will actually have to learn the new command enhancements before they can get the most out of them.
File management access includes support for FTP and HTTP access, with both SSH and SSL fully supported for encrypted access.
Installation
The installation completed without any issues.
There was no adware, toolbars, spyware or malware included with the setup package.
Take Command requires Windows 2000, Vista, XP, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, RT or Windows Server.
Interface
The interface is modern and clean. Sparing use of oranges and other colors remove the sense that everything is white with a black background.
There are a few quick command icons at the very top of the application window and a menu system below that.
A folder list is shown down the left side of the window. A list view is displayed to the right hugging the spot just below the menu system. A multi-tabbed interface for scripts is shown below the list view pane. Tabs like TCC prompt, PowerShell, CMD, and bash can be used there.

- Included hundreds of commands to make writing scripts easier and faster
