System Shield is a security package to detect spyware, viruses and malware. Rootkits can also be detected, which is a welcome addition. Frequent virus definition file updates ensures that the latest viruses can be found. However, heuristical analysis also delves into each file to detect security issues even not known directly by the package. Keystroke loggers can also be nullified to prevent the capturing of username, password and credit card information. The main interface is thoughtfully laid out with clear coloring of each section, simple scanning buttons, but with expandable areas with additional options too. A running total of viruses and other issues detected and resolved is shown in the right sidebar.
