Overview

Sublight is a subtitle search utility that can locate available subtitles in many different languages for movies and TV episodes. These can then be download for use with media playback.

Importing new TV and movie media is simple with the application and it can then automatically look for subtitle files across the net. Sublight connects to several different subtitle databases to search for the right subtitles and then displays a list of the subtitle files it has found for the user.

As many as 500,000+ movie and TV episodes can be located with some subtitles available online. Many enthusiasts will create the subtitle files themselves and add them to global subtitle databases which Sublight can access freely. This ensures that newer TV episodes and the latest movie releases do not go too long without an appropriate subtitle file being released, often in more than one language.

Sublight does require the user to create an account or use an existing Google account to sign up before the app can be used.

Installation

The installer has a secondary option which when clicked lets the user change the install directory. Otherwise, the app just requires a single push-button to go ahead. No malicious software was installed with Sublight.

It is necessary to create a new account to access Sublight or to use a Google account to login directly. Access to the app is not possible without this step being completed.

Sublight requires Windows Vista Service Pack 2 or later. .NET Framework 2.0 or later is also required.

Interface

The interface offers larger buttons to scan movies and then look across the internet for sources of subtitles. Subtitles are then shown with their language listed next to the file. The required files can then be downloaded.

The application window is well laid out and no instructions are needed to learn how to use the app.
