Overview

Slimjet Web Browser for Windows (64 bit) is a Chromium based web browser that is also the basis of the more popular Google Chrome browser.

Beyond what is available with the Chromium default installation, Slimjet includes a host of new features that enhance the basic feature set.

There is an intelligent form filler which will remember previous entries and offer to complete a web form for the user.

Facebook is integrated via a Facebook toolbar button. Once selected, it can include the link to share, a paragraph of additional information or an image to post to Facebook.

For anyone who likes to upload photos to web sites, there is a photo framing and enhancement option which can add a pretty frame around a photo and use filters to change how the photo appears. Photos can also be compressed to reduce the file size and cut down the upload time required.

To help with repeated navigation, short URLs can be created in place of long ones. These can be short phrases which will be instant recognized and converted to the full URL upon entry.

Chrome extensions are fully usable with Slimjet as well which is an added bonus.

Installation

The installation requires 46.5 MB of available space to complete the setup.

There was no adware, toolbars, spyware or malware included with the setup package.

Interface

The interface is pretty similar to what one would get when installing Google Chrome which also uses Chromium as its basis.

The main thing that stands out immediately is the head icon in the top left corner which tells you that you're using Slimjet as opposed to another browser.

Web search and the Slimjet home page are included as bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar.

Other than this, on the main browsing interface will look basically the same as most other web browsers with open tabs, scroll bars, etc.
