Overview

Seolize is a useful software designed for website administrators and network traffic analysts that want to increase rankings in the results of search engines. This process is commonly called Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and is very important for web owners and other professionals who want their websites to be found easier by the users. Seolize can check your website’s HTML tags, analyzes keywords and images, searches for backlinks that Google and Bing have found, as well as transforms itself into a web spider and navigates through your website and its links. In addition, it gives you graphical reports for a better understanding of the results.

Installation

After extracting the downloaded archive and running the setup file, you will be notified of any necessary components are missing from your computer, in which case they will be automatically downloaded and installed. Afterwards, the normal setup procedure will begin. It has no steps where settings are needed to be made, and the main installation process finishes relatively fast.

Supported operating systems are Windows XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7 and Server 2008. Microsoft .NET Framework v3.5 is required.

Interface

The modern interface uses the Aero effect in a way that is more noticeable to the user, since at the title bar you can also see a few buttons similar to playback buttons, that are used for starting, pausing or stopping a website scan. Below you can find various tabs with different features in each one. Those are File, Home, Analyze, Build, Reports and Help. Changing tab means changing the toolbar buttons, but the main area of the window stays the same. It gives you general information about the website examined (keywords, links etc.) and has a useful site explorer feature.

Pros

The only thing you have to do in order to begin analyzing your website is enter its URL in the box found in the Home tab and then click the Start button. The program will start scanning your website and display information and items as they are found. This information includes meta keywords, meta description and title, as well as all available links. The program traverses every link that is found like a web spider. Images and their alt, title attributes are checked too.

The Rank monitor feature will give you the rankings of your site from Google and Bing. The Backlinks monitor feature detects the backlinks found by the same search engines and presents you with a list of those links.

The keywords can be analyzed by page or by word. This way you can view their count, and more importantly, their density and weight.

Graphical reports can be generated, which reflect the gathered data in a visual style. The reports can help you come to interesting conclusions, since they are easier to grasp and comprehend.

Cons

Some of the features (such as the reports) are locked in the 30-day trial version so you can’t fully test out the program.

Alternatives

Other software with a similar purpose exist, like SenSEO (free) and Concentrate SEO Tool (paid). The first one is an add-on for Mozilla FireFox, and when enabled it checks the current web page for several components and then displays them. In contrast to Seolize, it isn't very thorough and doesn't have many functions. Concentrate, on the other hand, is more professional and has even more features than Seolize, such as direct integration with Google Analytics.

Conclusion

It is safe to say that this program shouldn’t be ignored. The trial version will convince you of its capabilities, and even though you can find better alternatives, Seolize is the best one for this low price.
