ScriptLogic is an Enterprise-level utility which Dell acquired previously in order to provide a software migration tool to their Enterprise customer base. It is available as a 30 day trial where the full features can be tested out. The tool focuses on migration like the ability to migrate files from one location (or server) to another, while also migrating the file permissions, and file shares so that once the transfer is complete, the right people can still access the file from the new location. Bandwidth throttling is included with the migration features in order to ensure that WAN links with lower bandwidth can still still run regular business activities during work hours while a migration is ongoing. Migration can also be scheduled to work outside of business hours time periods.

Installation

The installation process went normally. There were no extra software that was added as one would expect from a company like Dell. Remember that this is a 30 day trial version.

Interface

The interface for this software application focuses around business use is plain and uninteresting. It is focused directly on arranging the migration of files from one location to another, establishing sharing and re-enabling that for the transferred files. Overall, the interface is perfectly fine and very functional for users who wish to manage complex migration responsibilities.
