Purge is a utility intended to help get rid of garbage files that are not needed by Windows any longer but are taking up space on the hard drive and slowing Windows operations down. Backup files .bak formats, temporary .tmp formats and also files with zero byte sizes can be safely deleted in most cases. The utility can scan the hard drive to locate such files which are not needed and can be safely purged. A prompt will appear to let the user choose whether to delete the files found. Old web browser cache information about previous web site visits can also be found for different browsers and deleted too. This removes a recent history of web browsing activities as well.
