"100% efficient product against spy software."
Overview
PrivacyKeybord provides computers with powerful protection against hardware keyloggers and spy programs. The software can recognize the hidden snooping malware even if its signature is yet unknown, not to mention the ones with a long track record of malicious activity.
PrivacyKeyboard goes further than identifying the spyware; it deactivates the spy programs running on your computer automatically, even if you do not know your computer is infected. Thus, your private information remains private, and you get some peace of mind in terms of security.
Installation
PrivacyKeyboard is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and 7, as well as older versions like Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2003. The program requires you uninstall other anti-keylogging products you might have on your machine, and that is a definite disadvantage here, because anti-keyloggers are supposed to work in conjunction with one another, not creating software conflicts. Overall, the program installs with ease. You can choose the language and destination folder; no other options are available during installation. Likewise, it uninstalls either via Control Panel->Uninstall a Program, or via its icon in All Programs.
It is worth mentioning that PrivacyKeyboard is currently compatible with 32-bit systems only. Please note that this software may cause conflict with your antivirus suite, so make sure you check out developer’s website for a list of compatible software programs. The previous version of PrivacyKeyboard created a conflict with Avast Antivirus, but the bug was removed in the latest edition.
Interface
PrivacyKeyboard reminds its elder cousin AntiKeylogger in appearance. You get the radar-like design of the main window with several key modules that give you the possibility to fine-tune the software’s performance. Advanced users will find several ways to poke their nose into the program’s functionality while novice users may feel comfortable with the program’s default settings. Overall, this is not the kind of software that requires a lot of intervention.
Features
PrivacyKeyboard offers a number of advanced security features:
- Keystroke logging block
- Clipboard logging block
- Windows content capturing block
- Live protection
- Support for Unicode
- Multilingual interface available in 5 languages
- Hardware keyloggers block
- Desktop screenshots capture block
Important notice: PrivacyKeyboard does not list Windows 8 as a supported operating system, and it is incompatible with 64-bit systems.
Pros
The developer behind PrivacyKeyboard is a Ukrainian anti-monitoring company Global Information Technology Limited, which has been on the international market since 1999, so we could assume these guys have a lot of experience, especially because they have a good-earned reputation. The company is a Microsoft Certified Partner.
Lifetime support for certified users is definitely an advantage, always and if you can reach the support.
The list of features offers an exhaustive answer to the keylogging threat. PrivacyKeyboard protects you from clipboard, windows screenshot and keystrokes capturing threats, blocks hardware keyloggers and disables keyloggers on the fly, so it can potentially identify a threat even if its signatures are still unknown to antivirus databases.
Cons
Lack of support for Windows 8 and 64-bit systems limits its audience significantly.
Support may be difficult to reach at times.
This may not be a con per se, but $43.31 for a single program may be a defining factor, especially since the competition in the niche is stiff, and there are programs that beat PrivacyKeyboard in compatibility, features and performance.
PrivacyKeyboard does not scan your computer to detect keyloggers. Instead, it blocks attempts to intercept capturing of keystrokes, screenshots of windows and clipboard contents.
Requires you remove other anti keylogging software from your PC.
Alternative
Among the paid software, Zemana Antilogger suite remains our preferred choice while, among the free programs, we recommend Oxynger Key Shield and KeyScrambler.
Conclusion
PrivacyKeylogger performs well against known keyloggers, but may have difficulty identifying custom created spyware. This tool stops most keyloggers automatically and blocks their activity. The application launches alongside Windows loading and runs silently in the background without consuming too much of your system resources. To be able to recommend this application, we would welcome an update that would allow 64-bit systems, Windows 8 and an exhaustive list of compatible and incompatible antivirus suites. It would also be nice to be able to have other anti keylogging applications alongside PrivacyKeyboard, and a more accessible price.
Requirements: Windows 7(32-bit)/Vista(32-bit)/XP SP2(32-bit)
