Overview

Powersuite offers a system tools package that aims to speed up your Windows PC, optimize it by removing errors in the Windows registry, clean up junk files lying around, and overall make the system run smoother and hopefully more quickly in the end. An initial scan of the system helps the package to decide what areas need the most work. Drivers can be checked to see which are out of date. Disks can be defragmented to help improve their read times. All these efforts combine to try to make a better Windows at the end of it all.

Installation

The installation needed to make some additional downloads to get the latest installation packages. The software then installed without delay. There were no extra adware or other unwanted software added during the installation process. Once installed, a pop up suggests that a full system scan is run.

Interface

The tabbed interface at the top display the Overview, Speed tools, System optimization, and Disk optimization tabs.

The Overview tab shows a run down of the most useful features of the application. This includes an initial scan of the system to assess what the problems may be with Windows.

The Speed section includes a Start menu and a Software launch booster to try to help applications load faster.

System optimization includes scanning for unusual Windows processes which can be disabled, invalid registry entries, driver updates, and more. Junk files and the level of disk defragmentation is also checked.

Conclusion

Powersuite is a decent system utility that can scan for problems, fix invalid Windows registry entries, defragment the hard drives, adjust the Start menu, and reduce the number of applications that want to start when Windows does. The list of tweaks, changes and adjustments has the potentially to help improve Windows speed and stability. However, there are also plenty of other system utilities that offer the same (or better) tools.
