Overview

PADManager is a Portable Application Description (PAD) software package that can help successfully label and distribute software across 800+ download sites, Press Release Archives, RSS Feed aggregators, article directories, social networks, web directories, and more.

Shareware used to be distributed with a file_id.diz description text file. The new PAD system includes an XML-based distributable information file that can help web sites to update their sites automatically without the need for manual updates which can save time and effort.

PADManager complies fully with the approach PAD specification to ensure that files generated with the software can be read successfully and in full. The formatting of the files that PADManager produces match the approved PAD XML standard completely.

The information added to the PAD files is completely up to the user of the software. The user can create many company profiles and product profiles which can be switched between and updated when needed.

There is a FTP uploader included which can also remember the last used FTP path. Uploading new PAD XML files is a one click operation and should be very fast given that any XML package is text-based.

The program will also periodically check for software updates and installs them automatically. This ensures that any changes to the PAD specification are reflected in the latest release and the user is updated soon after so they continue to distribute correctly-formatted PAD XML files.

A custom PAD file can be created for each software archive which can match their layout and the information they seek. Statistics like the number of downloads in the last week can also be collected from the site for accurate reporting.

PADManager is useful when wanting to submit software to many web sites quickly. The software works in conjunction with the Submit Everywhere service. Submit Everywhere have multiple levels of access available which includes software site submissions, social media submissions, press release submissions, and more.

The installation completed without issue. There was no malicious software added or offered during the setup process.

Interface

The interface is simply laid out. There are menus, and toolbar buttons with the most used features shown at the top of the application window. Popular tasks are also shown down the left side of the screen.

The GUI is easy to understand at first glance.
