Overview

The Morpheus Photo Animation Suite combined being an animation suite with the ability to take two photos and morph them, warp their appearance or mix them up in various ways. Animations can be created in many different ways to bring more like to still photos. Morphing can be used to morph from one photo to the next and continue the process with a long series of photos. For instance, this could be from early childhood right to adulthood for a child of proud parents. Animations and morphs can ultimately be saved as Flash SWF files, animated GIFs or with still shots in JPEG, TIFF, PNG and other graphical formats.

Installation

The installation starts well enough, but then offers to include OpenCandy which can “make software recommendations for you on the next page” according to the installer application.

The installation of Morpheus Photo Animation Suite requires 13 MB's.

Once the installation is complete, a pop up screen appears which offers to register the software purchase or open it without registering a purchase. A countdown timer appears and buttons flash when pausing before opening the trial version.

A new web page is opened without warning to the developer's site as well. When opening the application for the first time, a prompt appears offering to subscribe the user to the developer's email newsletter.

Interface

The interface starts with a dialog windows that lets the user pick from a list of choices. These include options like picking a new morph layout, a new warp layout, creating a photo mix layout, loading a previously saved layout, creating a new blank layout, or simply doing nothing.

If the morphing option was selected, then the user will be asked to add two photos from their file collection that can be morphed together into a single interesting image. Such morphs can be later rendered as animated GIFs, Flash SWF files, and also have frames exported into graphic files.

Animations can also be created with as many individual frames as is necessary to do.

The Morpheus Photo Animation Suite is an interesting package which can do wondering with plain photos to create a more interesting collection that just a slideshow by adding morphing, warping and other animation effects.
