Overview

The Loaris Trojan Remover is a virus scanning package that looks specifically for Trojans. These are bits of software that have been installed on to a PC in the guise of being something other than what they are, then later they reveal their true purpose and infect the PC. This software intends to locate Trojans, Adware, worms and spyware that may have unwittingly found its way on to the PC. The software runs on Windows XP or later, so it will operate on most current versions of the Windows operating system and supports both 32-bit and 64-bit versions as well

Installation

The install was completed in no time at all and went fine. There were no additional items installed with this malware locator and eradicator.

Should the user be concerned whether a malware scanner is really a Trojan in hiding, then it can be a good idea to run the application through a different malware scanner before installing.

Scanning doesn't take too long but it would be best to run it overnight so that the system resources are not overly used during a busy work day as the time taken will vary depending on the size and number of hard drives installed in the PC.

Interface

The green interface has the menu down the left side with the option to Scan, View log files, See the Quarantine area, Access Tools, and Setup.

With the main scanning, there is the Standard scan which runs a quick scan without requiring further configuration to run it, Custom scan to carefully choose what parameters matter before going ahead with the scanning, and the Full scan which includes every type of scan the software is capable of.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is an effective scanner. SpyBot is another scanner. Both of these provide excellent detection and removal success rates.

Conclusion

Loaris Trojan Remover looks like it does a good job in locating and removing Trojan infections. It can also locate adware and malware during its scans. It is less well known than other malware scanners.
