GR Line Numerizer 1.0

Overview

GR Line Numerizer is a program to allow the user to add extra characters or numbers to change incrementally either the start or the end of each line of text.

The software is designed to go through a piece of text and make changes. The line number to start making changes on can be determined and added to the program to skip the first few lines of a passage of text. The ending line number can also be checked and added. It is possible to not set a starting line number and the application will begin from line one. It is also possible to not set a finishing line number and the program with continue until the end of the textual information.

There is the choice whether to add a prefix or a suffix for each line.

Adding numbers to each line can be done automatically on the left-hand side. If the user wishes to number on the right-hand side instead, there is a convenient check box for this.

It is possible to load a textual passage from a plain text file or paste the text into the right text area box within the application. Once modified, it is also possible to either save as a file or copy it to the Windows Clipboard.

Installation

The software currently comes up clean on recent virus scans for all but one scanning application.

GR Line Numerizer requires Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8.

Interface

The interface is fairly basic but quite usable.

There are boxes for the start and stop line number, the prefix and the suffix to be used, and the "Numberize" button. A check box allows the user to opt for line numbering to the right of each line's text content.

The first text area window displays the content loaded in either via a file or from the clipboard (there are buttons for either option).

The second text area displays the modified text once it has been numbered. There are then buttons to copy the result back to the clipboard or save it as a text file.
