Overview

FlicFlac Converter is an audio conversion utility that is capable of switching between a number of different audio formats, both lossless and lossy ones.

The software has a convenient drag and drop interface to initiate a conversion based simply on the files that are dragged across from Windows Explorer over to the application's interface.

Windows WAV files can be converted to FLAC, MP3, OGG or APE formats. All the supported audio formats are interchangeable with each other.

The tool can also convert between MP3 formats with an alternative bit rate chosen for the conversion. Otherwise, the audio file is the same.

The application is portable and can be placed on a USB flash drive, portable drive or the system drive.

Installation

There is no installation needed as this is a portable file.

There was no adware, toolbars, spyware or malware included with the setup package.

FlicFlac Converter requires Windows OS.

Interface

The interface is very compact. It uses a drop files location where the files that have been selected within Windows Explorer can be dragged over to the FlicFlac Converter and dropped in.

There are five push buttons with the conversion “to FLAC” depressed, and other buttons for “to WAV,” “to MP3,” “to OGG,” and “to APE” accessible right below the FLAC conversion option.

The application has a check box to choose if it will always stay on top of other applications. There is also the option to delete the original file once an audio conversion has been completed.

A settings icon in the bottom-right corner brings up a menu system to choose the audio quality and whether to integrate with Windows Explorer.
