Overview

FileTiger is a file synchronization tool that can mirror files between two locations and be used as a general backup tool.

This tool can display the contents of two file folders side-by-side so that the user can view then and determine any difference between them. Files can be chosen for copying, moving, re-organizing or backup up. Both file names and the path to the file can be copied over to the Windows clipboard to be used elsewhere.

There are Novice, Standard and Pro Modes with FileTiger which changes the level of authorization needed when taking action. Different confirmation screens will appear depending on which mode is being run that is intended to protect less knowledgeable users from themselves.

Font sizes can be adjusted to make folder contents easier to see on smaller displays or large displays running at higher than normal screen resolutions.

The software will examine the actual contents of files to see if they are similar or unchanged, rather than only look at file attributes like file size and its modified date.

Files are mirrored from one folder to another left-to-right. Files can be copied on the basis that they are all to be copied, the newer versions are only to be copied, or files that are missing in one folder but not the other.

It is also possible to create backups and ZIP file archives of those backups to save storage space.

Installation

The installation completed without any issues.

There was no adware, toolbars, spyware or malware included with the setup package.

FileTiger requires Windows OS included Windows 10.

Interface

The interface is pretty basic especially when it comes to the clip-art used for the action buttons which are quite bad.

With that said, the layout is easy to understand with two panes and the control panel set between them which is quite common with two pane navigational file utilities. Font sizes can also be adjusted which is a useful feature.

The interface can be used to selectively mirror certain files or a whole folder to the second folder shown.
