Overview

FeedDemon is a popular RSS reader for Windows that will help you keep in touch with your favorite shows/podcasts or follow news on the internet by subscribing to XML or RSS feeds.

Installation

The installation is quick and easy. The installer provides two setup preferences, Express Setup which will install the program at the default location with default settings and Advanced Setup which allows the user to set a specific installation path. On the first launch you are provided with the option to view a tutorial that explains the program's interface and features, and you can synchronize your client with a Google Reader account in order to keep everything synchronized between multiple computers.

Interface

While the interface may seem overwhelming at a first glance it's actually pretty simple and easy to get used to especially if you used an RSS reader before.Most of the features can be found in the title menu but there are buttons at the top for quick access. The client also provides tabs and has an integrated browser for surfing the web.

Pros

FeedDemon is an excellent RSS reader because of its multiple features like Google Reader sync, integrated browser, cleanup wizard, and its ability to tag items making them easy to find/organize. Also you can set watches and FeedDemon will notify you when certain keywords appears in any of your feeds.

Cons

The number of feature may be overwhelming for new users and the free version is ad-supported.

Alternatives

uTorrent, although its main purpose is being a bittorent client, it also supports RSS feeds and it's completely free making it a viable alternative for FeedDemon. FeedForAll is a great RSS publishing tool as well.

Conclusion

Whether you want to keep an eye on the news or listen to your favorite podcasts, FeedDemon is a very good feed aggregator thus i give it a 4.5/5.
