The WhoisThisDomain tool can pull down the WHOIS registrar information for a searched domain name and display this for the user. This can include the full owner information (name, address, telephone number, email address, etc.).

Getting more technical, the DNSDataView app provides the domain name server information for a given domain. This can help provide a little more detailed insight into the domain itself.

For people who wish to get more information about an IP address (perhaps their computer was recently “pinged” by an IP address and they wanted to see where the ping originated from. The IPNetInfo app can perform an IP address look up to see what information can be gleaned about it.

The DomainHostingView pulls together a more comprehensive view combining both WHOIS and DNS results. This can save time when the user knows they want information about both domain registration and domain name servers.

Installation

Each of the tools comes as its own executable file which can be placed anywhere on a file system and also on a USB flash drive. As such, these network tools are portable.
