Overview

Create Synchronicity is a file and folder synchronization tool that can create an effective mirror between two locations.

The tool is able to link up more than one folder and create backups between two locations. This can be either on local drives or network drives to ensure that files have a live backup in more than one location.

The software can use a scheduler to make the synchronization process a regular occurrence without having to even think about it. For people who forget to run their backups and get caught up in other things, this can be very useful.

There are multiple synchronization modes to choose between. Certain files and folders can be excluded from the synchronization in order to keep them private. Regular Expressions can also be used to make the selection/de-selection process more specific and powerful.

The software is open-source and can be used via a USB flash drive as well on a PC.

A graphical GUI is included, but a command-line is also present which makes the software programmable via scripting.

Installation

The software is portable and therefore does not need to be installed.

There was no adware, toolbars, spyware or malware included with the setup package.

Create Synchronicity requires Windows OS.

Interface

The interface starts off fairly basic with the ability to create new action profiles which can be accessed more quickly once setup.

There is the choice of synchronization modes like left to right, right to left, and two-way modes.

When synchronizing, there is a full list of files and folders which will be accessed and backed up. Files and folders are displayed in a list with a confirmation of the direction of the synchronization this time around, their file path, and so forth. Any files or folders that have been deleted in one folder can be seen that they will be shortly deleted in the mirrored folder too.

The interface is basic but easy to understand. The speed of the transfer per second is also shown along with a bar chart giving a sense of how far the synchronization process has got.
