Combofix is a malware scanner and malware eradicator security application. It runs under Windows XP (32-bit only), Vista and 7 only. The malware scanning is comprehensive and it is suggested that only knowledgeable people should use this software to check their systems. When running, the Windows recycle bin, temp folder and windows temporary files will all be purged. The software requires that the Microsoft Windows Recovery console is present, otherwise it will skip the more intensive malware removal actions in case this should cause a problem afterward. A log report is prepared after a full scan to confirm what files, folders and drives were scanned and whether any problems were detected. If any malware issues were resolved, this will be confirmed to the user.
