Overview

CloudBacko Lite for Windows is a workstation-based backup solution that is one step up from their Free solution and one step down from their Pro version designed for use in server environments.

This backup solution can connect to many backup locations to provide a coordinated backup process using its randomized key encryption process which comes before any proprietary solution that an individual cloud provider delivers.

The software can connect to existing clouds like Amazon S3 or Microsoft Azure, plus Google Cloud Storage, Openstack, Rackspace Cloud Files, and AWS API Compatible Storage. Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive are also accessible using CloudBacko Lite software. FTP and SFTP connections can be made to backup to FTP or SFTP-capable servers too. Furthermore, local hard drives, external USB drives and a mapped network drive can also be used as a backup location. Local and cloud backups can be combined using one easy interface with the software able to treat multiple backup locations as one which makes things much simpler to coordinate.

Connect to IBM Lotus Notes to backup the data contained in the files used for integrating messaging, social conversations and business organization.

Installation

The installation requires 349.9 MB's which should be noted. The installation itself went fine with no issues. No extra or malicious software was offered or added during the setup process.

Interface

The interface has a system tray icon which offers a range of backup options. Open the application, Backup and (restart, log off, shut down, standby or hibernate).

The main interface uses a tile approach similar to the Metro UI of Windows 8.1. Colored tiles represent different main features like Backup, Backup Sets, Report, Settings, Utilities, and Restore.
