Echo Server is a Java package that runs at the command line to see what information is being sent out over the internet. The name echo server is actually slightly misleading as no information is echo, but merely relayed. The Java package essentially listens in on the communication port that is being used to send information out from a computer over the internet and then displays that information to view it. This shows things such as how users and web browsers are being identified. It can be a useful tool to see perhaps for the first time just what is being sent out to the internet on behalf of users.
